My friend has freeBSD on an old pc of his...

basically, the commadn line functions are the same as in linux

ya know, ls, ls -i, startX, #su, etc :-)

now, there are many versions of freeBSD... if you get a retail packaged version, or spend a good deal of time compiling yourself, you have decent graphical interface. its easier to DL a text based interface, but this is really hard to learn with, unless you really have a lot of time on your hands.

yeh its stable, and yeh its uncompatible...

personally i prefer linux, but then again i'm not running a stay up or die PC either...
