You must run at least 5.5.5.1 of Nero for it to be compatible with XP. Earlier versions have problems.
By the way, I did find when upgrading to Windows XP (rather than clean install) that if you have a SCSI CD burner, you will have to reinstall Nero if your previous OS is based on the 9x core, as the ASPI manager is different.
