Default GeForce4 Details Out

I know this is a little late, but I think it is definitely worth some coverage.

The codename for the GeForce4 is NV25 and it will have the 4600 mark, at least for the fastest version. Basically this is just like NVIDIA's current GeForce3 Titanium series where they have a Ti, Ti200, and Ti500.

I'm sure all of you are interested in knowing what kind of specs to expect right? Well here's what we've found based on a report that our good friends at The Inquirer have done.

It will feature 128MB of DDR memory with a 128-bit bus. The Inquirer states that they are not sure about the clock frequency of the memory but expect it to be around 600MHz. The reason they believe this is because the GeForce3 Ti500 has 500MHz of DDR memory and believe that a GeForce4 4600 will have 600MHz. Although note that they are talking about 300MHz in actuality, but because DDR makes use of edge-triggered logic, it would effectively be 600MHz.

As for the clock speed of the chip, it should only be somewhere between 250-275 MHz according to sources.

Of course you can expect AGP 8X support.

A lower model is expecte, the 4400, which is expected to be 64MB DDR at 64-bit.

So when can you expect it to come out? The Inquirer learned that the card was sampled to manufacturers last month and that we can expect to be officially announced sometime in February. They are guessing February 5th, but that may not be totally accurate.
