AOL is at it again, this time by using mechanisms to block
Trillian users from connecting to the AOL IM network.
I personally experienced this, where I was unable to connect for about a day. Of course, had I bothered to go to the Trillian website, I'd have seen that these hardworkers already made an update to their software to circumvent whatever methods AOL employed so as not to allow Trillian users access to the AOL network.
AOL claims it's because of security...but does anyone else see MS, or yahoo complaining? While it's true that AOL has often been dominant, the other major players haven't had a problem with Trillian. Is AOL just being snooty, or what?
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
EDIT:
Well, another day, another blockage, another new version of Trillian to work around it. Head over to
www.trillian.cc for your non-AIM blocking version.
