Yes, in the USA, price is the biggest limiting factor. I say limiting factor because the companies could very easiely charge a lower price. Recall that the price went from $160 to $40 to $50. I guess the companies would rather have x*$$$=profit rather then y*$=profit. But then again AOL and earthlink charging $25 for 56Kake isn't helping any.

I'd say the other limiting factor is contract terms. If they could get to the point where a person buys their own modem and just goes month to month, it could be more attractive. A lot of people like me don't want to sign up for a 1 year contract.
