I've got $225 to burn with Toshiba, and I was considering getting a 4-port KVM switch and also that Visioneer 4400USB flatbed scanner. I've looked through most of the FAQs and HOWTOs regarding USB support for this thing, but nobody really has a definite answer on this scanner in particular. Also, the Logitech QuickCam USB (Actually a Connectix-model) has experimental support.

I'm not really asking about whether or not this is supported (Although if you have information in that regards, great!). What I would like to see, however, is your general experience using Linux with USB devices. Good? Bad? Ugly? Report the dirty details here! Be sure to include your motherboard model, as different implementations and host controllers may have problems as opposed to others (You KT7 owners out there may know what I'm talking about... ).
