You can still format NTFS if you are positive you wont be using that partition for WinME related stuff. Example would be file sharing, or sharing programs etc. What you could do is format your Win2k partition NTFS, most likely that will be your D: drive. There is no reason why you should be using that partition for sharing files, or programs. Same for WinME, you can format using FAT (C: drive).
For example this is what I’m doing:
Win98SE C: 3GB Partition FAT32
Win2k D: 4GB Partition NTFS
Win98SE E: 10GB Partition FAT32 (Games, small programs like, H-Oda, benchmarking software, Sisoft, 3Dmark 2000 etc.)
Win2k F: 10GB Partition NTFS (Programs, i.e. Adobe Photoshop, Homesite, Microsoft Office 2k, ICQ, Python etc.)
Sometimes it makes no logic to do so, by using both NTFS and FAT. But I do it anyway, because most of my important files are done using Win2k, and NTFS gives me that peace of mind. I’ve never notice any type of slowdown using NTFS compared to FAT.
