Do you have Norton Utilities running? I got this message when I had Disk Doctor runnning. I'd just close every program. Including the ones in your system tray. If you're not sure what's running, just ctrl-alt-del and end task on the programs still running. End task isn't recommended for shutting down programs, but it is an option.
