Because I leave my system on for long periods of time, I have always used Standby mode, up until recently. Once the computer reaches Standby mode, it is impossible to bring it out again. I press a key on the keyboard, the hard drive begins to sping up, but then nothing else happens. The only way to return it to normal again is to reset the PC. I have no screensaver assigned, and I have even formatted my hard drive and gone back to Windows 98 instead of Windows Me. The problem still persists, which leads me to believe that hardware is to blame. Anyone have any suggestions? Here are my system specs (Yes, I included every component, but somebody always wants to know something dumb like what my monitor model is when we're discussing hard drive failure.):
