The one thing that i hate about the airlines is that they always seem to over book on the best Flights

i was running late for a flight from San francisco to St. Louis ... and i don't mean that i was running late as the plain ready to leave but with in 20min. i get there and check in and get told that the plain is full, .. i said here is my ticket i need to get there tonight, and the nice young lady(what a ditz) says we have room in first class if you want to up grade, i say sure how much is the up grade(thinking about $100), the answer that i got, was not what i was expecting, about $1200, i said that she had to be kiding but to no avail she wasen't, what's up with that, the cattle section was only $280 round trip and 1200 was there one way price, i asked when the next filght was going out and she said early am, .... guess what flight i was on

what is special about first class that it is worth that kind of price, i know they have big chairs and they wait on them hand and foot BUT come on 1200 dollars worth in a 6hr flight ....

Hey emusictalk, they got you to Jamaica didn't they?

Still, I hate subsidising fat people's air travel. I reckon you should be weighed with your luggage and the total used to calculate excess baggage limits, not how it is at the moment...

Surprisingly, they did get me to Jamaica . Better yet, 1/4 of the trip we were in 1st class due to a mistake a guy made at Jamaica. Too bad the First Class sucked too. No TV, no meals (unless you call pretzels a meal), and some teenager in front of me had his seat so far back that I couldn't get out my tray table. The joy of flying.
