I don't know, but we started losing hard disks to them. Bad sectors would pop up, or we'd have read/write failures. I think it was a heat buildup problem that lower RPM drives don't really have, and the insulating nature of the carriages. I had a personally owned drive go out in one of those carriages (Hot Shuttle by AgateTech), and it would randomly "forget" partitioning. Finally, I ran some low-level diagnostics on it, and sure enough, the drive was dying/dead. I got it RMAed, and I haven't used the carriage since.

Maximum PC. We were a part of their online network of websites (which included other sites such as arstechnica), but they shut down the network due to costs.

As opposed to the previous response, MCP means Media Communications Processor. This is the hardware that will control the onboard ethernet capability and 5.1 audo duties, as well as media data streaming.

For you "old-timers" out there, MCP was the Master Control Program from the movie Tron.

I sincerely doubt it. This is just computer-level 5.1 decoding for DVD playback and such. As it stands, this motherboard is probably the first I've seen where you could actually use the damn thing without putting ANY cards in it, and it'd actually be useable. Exciting, huh?

Speaking of which, was anyone else out there as thoroughly disappointed with the DVD re-release of TRON as I was? That movie could have REALLY used some awesome DVD work. I mean, it's already a great movie, but DVD could've made it even better!

I think they rushed it out the door without re-mastering
it. Kinda makes you mad, when you pay that kinda money
and don't really get the quality you deserve!
