Just A Question
How much would this be worth do you think?
A Desktop
Celeron 433
32meg rage fury pro video card
Basic sound card(pci)
full size atx tower
32x cdrom
4x4x24 cd burner
3.5 floppy ya know
17inch nec moniter
56k modem
and i was just wondering what you think the price range of this is? i was thinking 550 or 600 but not sure

Well, a few more details are necessary, but as it stands, 500 is an overestimate. How much RAM does the system have? What motherboard is in it? How big of a hard drive?
Or, are you just selling the monitor and the parts from this system? If that's the case, then I'd probably price it at about 250 or 300, mostly because of the monitor. The processor and CDR are the high points of the equipment there.
Any more details?

What kind of motherboard? You'll answer this question as well if you mention the motherboard, but is it a slot 1 Celeron, or a Socket 370 Celeron? OEM heatsink, or something *special*?

Well, the video card sucks ass, but everything else is pretty good. I'd chalk it up to 450 myself.
Anyway, though, good luck on selling it.

Oh yeah...I forgot about that being missing... :-) Is the drive ATA66 or ATA100? Also, you might not want to have it in that removeable carriage. I used to work in a cybercafe where we used those, and we found out the hard way that the vendor only recommends using those with drives <5400 RPM.

Because ATI's Mach drivers are lousy.
The performance of the card is okay, but up until I read about 500 positive reviews of the Radeon, I swore to myself that I'd never buy an ATI product again. Thankfully, they've renewed a measure of my faith in them, but anything with the name "Rage" in it starts making my own rage build up.

Depends on what your budget is, and how soon you want it. I think about 95% of the PC enthusiast community is sitting on their hands in anticipation of the nForce motherboards due out in a couple of months. I know I am...

MSN Messenger...bah. It's installed with Windows XP, but everyone I talk to uses AIM...and I haven't used ICQ in ages. It's got a lot of cool features, but I was sick of all the trollers sending me pr0n messages and stuff. AIM gives me most everything I need out of a messaging client.
