Its nothing more then an EGO trip. We dont need these killer systems that we have we just want them. I am guilty of the ego thing myself. Its just like any other hobby "he/she who has the most money wins". The people who can spend the money buy the latest best stuff at a high price and the people who dont have the extra cash wait until something new comes out and the new stuff becomes old and the prices drop.

    Red face

    hello eveyone,
have two PC's at home..and both are for work and play..older PC....Dell XPS t850r
    850MHz PIII
    512MB pc100 SDRAM
    SB Value sound card
Dell Branded GE Force with 64MB RAM
    40GB IDE HDD

    newer system ..Dell 220 workstation
    dual 1000MHz PIII's
    256MB PC 800 RDRAM
Matrox 400 video card with 32MB RAM
    SB Value sound card
dual 40GB 7200 IDE HDD in RAID O via Promise controller

    have 2 19" monitors...older one is a CTX
newer one is a Dell P991
I really like both systems......problem is the XPS t850r stomps the 220 Workstation in 3D benchmarks AND games due to most games for single processor anyway and the XPS t850r having the GE Force vid card
I do need dual monitor capability for the workstation though...

my question is....are there any video cards with real good dual screen capabilitiy( Matrox 400 quality or better) that have the 3D performance of a GE Force 64MB????
    thanx ,
    mark
