Well there are always people with faster machines out there ... my aging dual celeron system still kicks ass when it comes to running lots of apps...
Abit BP6
Dual Celeron 366@523 - 2 GlobalWin FEP32s
Antec SX1030B - 4 80mm High Output Sunon Case Fans
400 Watt power supply
128 MB PC133 RAM
30GB IBM 75GXP
13GB IBM 22GXP
32x CDROM
Sound Blaster Live! Value
Visiontek GeForce2 GTS 32 MB
19" Sony CPD-E400
Klipsch ProMedia v.2-400
My old system was a PII 400 gateway machine that my parents are using now. It seems like only yesterday that I was kicking ass in Q2 Voodoo2 SLI rig... ah the memories...

Okay, I'll bite; here's my system specs...
Abit BF6
Pentium III 550E @ 733MhZ
256MB PC133 SDRAM
20.4GB Maxtor DiamondMax ATA/66
Pioneer 6x32 DVD-ROM
HP 7200i 2x2x6 CD-RW
Elza Erazor X SDR GeForce
15" AOC Spectrum 5Vlr
Sound Blaster Live! Value
Altec Lansing ACS56 5-Point Surround
Smartlink 56k
Smartlink 10/100 NIC
I just recently bought the extra (and faster) RAM, then immediately overclocked my Coppermine. No instabilities to report. (Keep in mind that my AGP bus is also overclocked to about 89MHz as well)
If anyone out there plays Q3 Team Arena and you want your framerate to be closer to what it is in normal Quake3, trust me: More RAM will help. My GeForce/256MB RAM combo beats the heck out of my friends' GeForce2MX/128MB RAM combos. Go figure...
It's not perfect, but I got a few good deals over the course of putting this system together.
If I could change a few things, I would probably get an Abit SA6R and 2 new 20.4GB or 30.7GB DiamondMax's (they're absolutely silent...) and hook them up in RAID.
256MB is plenty of RAM, and 733MHz CPU is enough horsepower, especially considering the 133MHz system bus (and hence, more memory bandwidth).
The only performance I really care about is 3D performance, so I might move up to a DDR GeForce or a GeForce 2.
A sound card with digital output (such as a Diamond MX400) might also enhance the gaming experience, expecially since I now have the speakers to take advantage of it. (the ACS56 set is AMAZING).
Oh yeah, a bigger monitor and a faster burner would be nice too...and I am biting my nails in anticipation for cable coming to my area. mmm...broadband...
There you have it, my present situation and my plans for the future regarding my primary rig. That's right, there's more than one...
