Great article, and Plextor has ALWAYS made a great product, but my money will be on the Teac. Once a Teac is released of the same speed as a Plextor, only at a lower price, it seems to always become an "editors choice".

If only Teac and Plextor would quit bundling Roxio with their drives, I'd be REALLY happy.

    agree with you

I like the plextor manager a lot , a very great soft burner . I use it with nero just for my data burning . ( plextor manager dont have data burning )

I never try ROXIO , i just see my friend show it to me and i was uninpressed , it sucks the same way as adaptec .

Roxio is a great cdr app if you don't have enough coasters around the house, otherwise I like Nero, and CloneCD depending on what I need to do. I haven't had a buffer underrun since i upgraded my comp over a month ago, and I go through about 60-80 cds a month

Lets just say I collect software :P

Before I would average about 3 coasters out of 5 cd's I tried to burn. Needless to say this was quite frustrating. I guess this mite have had something to do with the extent that I upgraded my system...

nice review. only thing i was missing is info about the overburn facilities. my old hp 4x (which just passed away today) wouldn't allow me to do any such thing. can i do it with the plextor? and in that case how much?

    Question A Prefered media maker??

    hi,

I would have liked the review to have mentioned something about which disks burn the best. I just ordered a Plex24x10x40 and have no idea what brand of disks to buy...
    I paid $135 or so at http://www.newegg.com

    umm,
    bye

I prefer Verbatim...I'm trying Imation at the moment but am not able to comment on Its long term reliabuility...

Have tried heaps of nameless disks...the Lazer don't seem too bad either...
