    One thing I'm wondering about, why is it that thick ? looks huge compared to the palm. I'm guessing it could have been thinner, unless I'm missing something.

    You've got guts, actually testing how it held up to being tossed and dropped. Dunno if I'd be willing to try that (assuming I somehow got a PDA )

    so you missed the 2 or 3 paragraphs I was talking about how thick it was? It does dwarf the palm 3. Which was my biggest gripe with it.

    However, its good protection did get it a few points back

    No, I read those, I was wondering WHY they made it that thick. It looks like it could have been thinner and still do the job.

    Seeing as how you had the unit in your hands, I figured you might have figured out the reason behind that bulkiness.

    i don't think that the thickness was avooidable. the keyboard made the one door as it is, and the other side, really isn't that much thicker than a palm. If it were much thinner, tho, it would not protect as well.
