SHAME!!!
What? This Age of Empires II rehash gets 8/10? Bah! While I commend the efforts of the design team, did they REALLY have to clone every unit from AoEII? Shame on your for supporting inferiority, shhhaaamaeeeeeeeeeee....

I completely agree... Age of Empires was a great game, granted, but giving it a graphical face lift and changing the name won't cut it. The game is nothing BUT AoE2. If I wanted to play AoE2, I would play AOE2 and not spend $50 on this pos knock off. I essentially bought another AOE2 cd; well at least cds look cool in the microwave.

I gave the game the same score that I would have given Age of Empires II if it were released today. I pointed out that it is very similar to Age of Empires II, meaning that people who already own Age of Empires II may not be interested. But surely it is worth a look for people who never played Age of Empires II. A game doesn't have to be innovative to be fun.

No, but it does have to be innovative to merit the spending of $40 to purchase it.
And furthermore, it has to be innovative if LucasArts expects me to buy it when I and everyone else I know already owns Age of Empires II.

Re: Star Wars: Gallactic Battlegrounds
This is about the best (and only) review I can find about this game. It tells a nice description of all the pros and cons, but it could have better graphics. I mean come on: the first level of the Wookie campaign? Is that the best you can do? (I'm on the second level, thank you very much!!!)

Re: SHAME!!!
This game was NOT an exact clone of Age of Empires II. They made unique units and had good graphics. The only problem with the review was the graphics. You are only on the first level in the Wookie campaign? You should be farther than that if you have to write a review of the game in question. (I'm on level two in the Wookie campaign, thank you very much!!)

Well, at least SOMEONE agrees with me. A game does not have to be innovative to be fun, and I agree very strongly on that point. I have never played Age of Empires II and I don't plan on it. Even after hearing a lot about it, Galactic Battlegrounds is still a fun game.
