Warcraft II is the one game that I actually got sucked into for hours on end.

Even though I became quite good at Quake III, I somehow knew when it was time to hit the escape key and get on with life. Warcraft II kept me for hours on end and entire marathon weekends.

I wonder if WC3 will have the sae effect on me? I'm certainly anxious to find out and will be at EB on the day it's available.

    Default Spells Realistic?

I thought the Article was great! I like nearly everyone else don't have the beta so it's great to hear about the game.

I just had to comment on one thing I found funny.

"They'd just immediately dump all their MP into a wide swath of magic casts. Definitely not realistic or fun. Cooldown helps keep powerful spells in check and prevents overuse."

How do you know what is realistic in spell casting? I don't know anyone that can spell cast for real. ;-)

I am glad that put that change in too...

    Default surprising hardware requirements

A really exciting article. Warcraft II and Starcraft are the only games that have kept me up at night, as well. I'm a little surprsed by the hardware requirements (sounds like a GF3 minimum if you want hirez). I have been avoiding 3d cards due to their lousy 2d image quality and have used Matrox G400 Maxs and G550s for the last few years but it sounds like Warcraft III will be out around the same time as the GF4 'Ultra' and I will get them both.

You kidding? I got my BS in Thaumaturgical Studies from the University of Quendor. I can tell when someone's just casting FILFRE when they claim to be casting REZROV.

Well, it's *supposed* to be 5000 people. How many people pirated it and are playing on bnetd or one of the other private Battle.net clones is beyond our guess...
