I ran a computer store for 5 years. We ordered a few of these tv tuners because they came with a remote. A customer had one with a dead remote, and the company would not help her or us.

    Brutal product. Stay away.

The remote was a point of interest, as the previous Tuner I had didn't have a remote. As my review stated, I wasn't impressed with the remote by any stretch of the imagination.

Default How was the capture ability

Can you tell me what you think of the capture ability of this card? I want to buy it to capture video images from a survellance camera that sits in front of my house.

    Thanks,
    Gary

If you want to do any sort of capturing (either stills, or video), do NOT use their software. it works, but it doesn't do video compression, and I never reliably got the image capture to work as I wanted it to.

Truth be told I still use this card, because of the radio, but I use ATI's software for watching TV (even though I don't get to use the remote).

Having to rely on another companies software for a product it wasn't designed for isn't a mark of a good card. ATI's software could do what you want, pretty easily, I believe. But their card (and software) has had issues with XP. I haven't reviewed any other intenal TV Cards, so I can't honestly recommend any others.
