interested to know some general specs of the prototype camera used to capture the pool table sample picture. it seems to have some swing properties for the nice control of focus.

It's all very wellé to show picures of a resolution of 1200X1800 or 1800X1800 pixels and claim they were taken by a Foveon X3, having a resolution of 1000X1300, but it's not very honest, to say the least.
Why do you do that? The Foveon chip doesn't need such a doubtful publicity. I's good enough to outshine the others by just showing the real original shot!
The 24 bit pixel was anxiously awaited by all photographers and is a really great step forward.
The only negative point of the X3 chip is it's physical size, which, when used in a 24X36mm SLR body, leads to a whopping 1.7 fold magnification factor wich neutralises all standard grand angular lenses.
The dream of any serious photographer would be to have a (Canon, Nikon, Minolta etc) body containing a foveon chip, but approaching the 24X36mm size, so as to take full advantage of the existing lens range he or she owns.
Will that deam be fulfilled and how, if so?
