Hello, I was wondering...I noticed that unlike the promo picture, the quickcam 4000 doesn't have that cool looking black plastic part looping over the cam in your pictures of the product. I gather that it didn't make the cut ?

When I recieved the webcam, it was from a fellow reviewer. To my suprise as well, it did not come with the plastic loop part that was displayed in those promotional pictures. I am pretty sure that the loop was lost somewhere or that Logitech doesn't make them anymore. bestbuy.com and newegg.com has pictures of it with the loop, so I'm sure that if anyone plans to buy it, it will come with the loop.

My bad, I lost the loop and I should have mentioned it before I sent it to you, Alan. it DOES come with the loop .

    Default Logitech QuickCam 4000

While the review of this Web cam was generally positive, if you go to the users' board on the logitech.com site you will see that it has loads of problems, especially with Windows XP. I am still trying to get the microphone to work with MSN chat, after spending several days how to get prevent a pop-up telling me that I had to download an updated version, which I did--to little effect. Avoid this camera like the plague, unless you want to be extremely frustrated. I don't know why Logitech does not assign someone to go on to their own users' board and provide authoritative answers to the questions asked!

    Confused logitech

We have been using this web Pro 4000 for a while. It works fine by itself when we do sound, picture, and video. However, we have only been able to use video on MSN Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger. For some reason, the sound does not work even we when invite someone to listen and watch web cam. The problem manifests itself in two ways, it is either we can hear the other side, but the other side can not hear us; or both sides can not hear each other. We tried with different people, different software, nothing worked. Could you tell me what might be the problem?

My operating system is Windows XP with a XP software package. I thought it might have been a firewall on XP, but I disabled it and it still does not transmit audio. Any ideas?
