Hey.. I cleaned out the convo about the edits for the review. I figured stuff like that needs to stay in the Editor's forum and not in public view.
Thanks for the hard work!

What kind of sound quality did you got with the ULT31576 ?
Does it play loud enough ?

Sound quality and "loud enough" are both relative terms.
The sound quality is better than my RioVolt ans Sony Walkman and is just as good as my friend's iPod. In fact, I didn't realize how bad my RioVolt sounded until I listened to this Ultra 8-in-1. Better ear-buds will help even more as the can improve dynamic range.
As for volume, I would often only need the volume turned up half way. The volume turned all of the way up was actually way too loud for anyone to ever listen to.

Only when the unit is plugged into a PC. You can't move the files when the MP3 player is mobile. You can only delete them.

What i like the most with that kind of device is the expandable memory (MMC/SD cards).
Well...it look like a good deal for the price.
I think i'm gonna get one, you convinced me !
I was thinkin' to buy a 1.0GB SD Card with it.
That way, i'll have enough space to store a couples of songs & i'll be able to use it in my digital camera !
Thanks 4 everything.
Your review was very helpful.
See ya !!!

I don't think 1GB cards are compatible. Stick w/ 512MB.

Confirmed: Only uses up to 512MB memory for a total of 768MB. It's in the documentation.

Maybe you should try it out with a 1GB card to see what's happen. just in case.

I've had three different accounts of 1GB cards not working. Also, I've read where one of the Ultra techs tried a couple 1GB cards with no success. And, the docs say it only works with up to 512MB. I think that's good enough prrof for me.

UPDATE: I had mentioned in the review that the clip that held the MP3 player to the neck strap broke... Just wanted to let everyone know that Ultra sent out a whole new assembly (clip, neck strap, headphones) to replace the broken one. KUDOS!!!

Thanks for answering my main mp3 player question in the review: Is it drag and drop or does it require custom software to download songs. After using Rio's buggy software on my first mp3 player I try to avoid anything which doesn't allow drag and drop.
Is there any way to control the play order and is there any support for play lists? I downloaded the manual but it wasn't helpful. Thanks.

Does the player auto-resume an MP3 when powered on or
does it start at the beginning of the file?

KarlS: The files go onto the player FIFO. No other way to sort the order of the songs.
Unregistered: If you power off the player, it starts over at the first song next time you turn it on.
