How could you think it's crappy? Every review I've seen gets very high ratings....

i didn mean crappy like some trisonic speakers but for 200 somethin dollard they re pretty bad in general they re made out of verey hi quality components i can see that but a few things that make them sound really bad (plastic tweeters, and cube shaped sub its overloading really quickly) i mean it plays good up to 50% wolume on decent frequencies then i increase volume just by i would say 5% and it goes down completely like it just snaps out of frequancy and it starts resonating and overloads... thats why im really thinkin about altec lansing model 641 i was able to turn it about 85% volume and there was no distortions with very low bass freq playin

Question though, is the volume the same at 85% on both speakers? Sometimes you also need to play with the windows sound controls....You may be overloading the bass...

no seriously no offense but i know how to use windows im not a cmputer newbie and i tried shitload of effects plugins tweaks and tons of other stuff if it sounds bad it will sound bad no matter how u turn it and people keep tryin to prove me that these are best speakers. why? i dont try to argue i was just hopin that someone from klipsch reads this forum and notes whats needs to be done to make them speakers better.

I'm not trying to convince you, but I don't have the same problems. Personally I like the Logitech Z560 system better compared to the Klipsche -400 series.

Finally i got to see how rude europeans are from what Unregistered said. And i don't think altec lansing produced any speaker called the 461 model. I was an altec lansing user from what i've heard, klipsch beats altec lansing upside down

ahh finally i found it and i continue my battle with klipsch also i am te unregistered user that said klipsch were bad speakers and after having them for almost a year i still say so because no matter what i do or what i connect to them they still dont put out that quality as my old yamaha did and yes theres a model of altec lansing itsa 4.1 set abut same price and it wounded wayy better
another reason why i dont like this sub is because of my limited pace i have to put it close to a wall and with speakers being on 2 sides of it i cannot move it very close to anything unlike front firing subs
anyway u guys feel free to convince me otherwise write an email <mute9003@yahoo.com> i ll listen to u if u have some details i dont know also many internet rewievs are amateur users that got caught by advertised power of the speakers of cource if u had some 20 dollar speakers and then u switch to klipsch with 400 watt total they will sound notticeably better but if u had a nice set of speakers before u have to compare a little harder
