Dave,
I think the graphs need a minor change. Since they're all blue, it's hard to tell one particular card from another. We're not comparing a GF2 to a GF3Ti right now, but we are comparing all those cards against the Radeon 8500, so maybe it'd be useful to highlight the Radeon 8500 with a different color?

Also, and I think you used to do this...could you link back to the article in question in your feedback thread post?

I decided not to do that because I'm not sure if the URL to an article will change in the future or not. Especially while we are developing SLDB.....if it gets completed, the URL for all articles will be completely different than what is actually shown in the thread.

Wow, I didn't even know Alienware made laptops, cool
In terms of getting the Radeon Mobility for testing, very unlikely consider I don't even have a laptop to test with....Let alone cards to compare to...
I'll tell you what though, I'll contact Alienware and see if we can get a unit to review, I'll let you know what they say.

Talking about mobile graphics, I just ran a 3DMark2001 SE Test on my labtop with 830 Intel Integrated Graphics on XP, and it got 866, what a gaming machine!

What about 3DMark2000? 3DMark2001 is designed for DirectX 8...and I'm not too familiar with the i830, but I'm curious how much better it performs with DirectX 7 compliance.

Radeon...Burnin' Burnin'!!
The Radeon 8500 is still burning....the Ti 4600 is only 19% faster (per Nvidia Analyzer) and the Only card to best it ! The 4400 is outpaced obviously, but there is no specific Analyzer for either the 4200 or the 4400 so it leaves you guessing a bit. As for the Radeon, the new drivers are boosting it by the month. Look out.

8500 DV card
I'm not sure I should be posting here. Somewhere you said you would post a review on the DV card around May. The search engine didn't find it. In any event:
I bought this card simply to copy VHS tapes that were getting old. I bought this to put on my wife's computer. I'm a gamer. This is the worst card I have ever had the displeasure to buy. This makes the 3rd ATI card I have bought and is, by far, the worst one. You would think an experienced user would know better after having bought 2 before, wouldn't you? I forgot about the problems and read the reviews. Every review site gave this card an awsome review over the nVidia card. Well here goes all my failures:
I bought an "open box" from BestBuy. I brought it home and installed it on a Win 98 OS. The machine wouldn't boot the monitor! I promply took it back to BestBuy for credit. Before I was allowed to do so, the tech had to inspect the card and verify my problem (good business practice). He said that this is the 3rd time the card had been sold. When he put it in his Win XP, he had to do a System Restore to get his machine back to running. He took the box and wrote on it, in big letters, "DO NOT SELL AGAIN - DEFECTIVE.
Well, I went online and ordered a new Retail box (cheaper too) When it came in, I installed it on the Win 98 computer - the monitor wouldn't boot. I called tech support - they're only open 8-5 Monday - Friday. Unfortunately, I work for a living during those hours. I sent an email. The response was that it was a configuration problem. I did a format c:, reinstalled Win 98 and installed the sound card first (because we all know that ATI MUST have the sound card installed first) and then installed the card - no monitor. I bought a new mb, processor, and memory (it WAs getting old): no monitor. I was getting desperate, so I removed my nVidia video card (whimper) and put the #$%$ card on my machine runing XP. It installed!! Ulead Studio wouldn't run, but Windows Media center would. Now when I add any new peripherals the display resets. I have a 19" monitor that all of a sudden had a 13" screen set to 640 x 480. The setting had it at 1152 x 864 on a multiple monitor setting (I only have one). After working for an hour changing every setting, the normal screen showed back up. I have no idea what I did to correct this POS. Unfortunately I don't have Directdraw (diagdx says everything is OK). I don't care what the reviews have said, I'm taking this POS out of my machine, throwing it in the trash and buying an nVidia product. I've never had a moments trouble with an nVidia driver.
