    Default GameCube

I just picked up GameCube for $150 with a free game (Super Smash Bros. Melee), and so far I really like it. I also have a PS2, but, in my opinion, games for the GameCube are really overall much better. My questions are:

    1) How is the internet service on the GameCube. I am aware that it offers both modem and ethernet usage. How is the ethernet performence?

    2) What games are some to look out for? I am already planning on getting Super Mario Sunshine and Metriod Prime as my first games bought seperatly.

    3) I need a memory card, but I want to pay VERY little for it. I found this deal on eBay, a memory card for only $3, but will it work? Here is the link.

Thanks for all the help! The GameCube is really good so far, but I am not too impressed with Super Smash Bros. It just gets boring after some period of time.

Gamecubes are good systems but in my opinion they do not even compaire to a ps2 or an xbox the problem with nintendo, although they are improving, is that all of there games are for kids and not teens making the xbox and ps2 far superior

thats the point for me,My 5 year old son loves the gamecube, its games catalouge offers a lot more scope for the younger player. That doesn't make the ps2 or x box superior machines ,just more adult orientated.I prefer the pc myself anyway

You can get Resident Evil and Resident Evil Zero and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3. Good choices.

Can't you get the resident evil and tony hawk's stuff for other consoles too?

I guess my point is that it seems like although there are a few games for gamecube that appeal to the general masses, are there enough to make it worth getting?

Although I must admit that they're getting pretty cheap now....it might even be worth picking one up and seeing how one could hack it to do other stuff (it has a beefed up G3 processor :-p). At 99 bucks, it's hard to pass up (unless you're poor like me).

I sold my GameCube a while back, none of the games really pleased me except for Zelda Wind Waker and Mario Sunshine. I am perfectly happy with my XBox with WIRELESS XBox Live .

Amistad, are you back on SLCentral for good? , lets hope so .

Yo man, Gamecube's are sweet. PERIOD. For any gamer that is, it also has games like Final Fantasy:CC, Tony Hawk:Underground, and lots of other games that also are appealing to teens. It is just an extra added bonus that it also serves as a good young gamer's paradise, while is just as good as P2 and XBX. I myself have recently found myself playing my Gamecube most of the time rather than playing my P2. I think you need to give Nintendo a little more credit because I think that they really deserve the recognition^_^

Hey guys? I have bought pitfall harry for the gamecube and I am stuck in the sunken courtyard. The vines over the croc pit is not long enough to reach the level by the wall. I swing hard and I still come up short on the last vine. Can any of you help me or get me a cheat?

Try cutting off your swing before the vine reaches its maximum potential. That should do it for you.

For those of you with 5-year olds, I suggest Shrek at large game it has excellent graphics and family oriented. Not to mention it helps build eye and hand co-ordination with the puss-n- boots part.
