Have you tried any Napster alternatives? If so, tell us what you thought.

My favorite so far is Morpheus (You can get it at http://www.musiccity.com). It's pretty easy to use, and has a lot of results. You can find audio, images, video, documents, and software. I just started using it, I've seen around 75,000 users on at one time, with over 30,000GB of data!

Kazaa is pretty good, you can get losts of results also it has video, audio, documents, software, and images. I havent tried morpheus yet... but i am very content with kazaa. There is also mirc which is the god of p2p, but it can be harder to find what your looking for there.

If you get lost, then believe me, just TRY Morpheus! The more you use it, the more you realize how some of the features are just really awesome.

    Thumbs up

    Limewire.com

User name not req'd and you can adjust the amount of bandwith to give the uploads. That can explain why sometimes it is slow to download.

contains video, pics etc besides mp3

I would have to agree with that last post. Limewire is a great P2P to use. I have had great luck with finding everything that I have needed. Plus I like that their is no username to put in. It also uses the autoconnect feature, to connect you to and keep a connection with a set number of hosts at all times that you decide on.

I personally like WinMX (WinMX.com). It's easy to use, and has the no-crap idea. A simple program to search for audio, pictures, videos, exc. I like how there are just basic features, no non-used stuff :-D. I would definetily reccomend that one

    Default Other Napster Alternative

I use AudioGalaxy. It can be found at www.audiogalaxy.com . It uses a different approach than most mp3 sharing programs. With this program you do most of the stuff within you browser. You download a small (400k) program called the audiogalaxy satellite, from the website. Then you just go to the website and search for you song you want. When you find it on the site, you just click on the satellite icon next to the song, and it automatically opens the satellite and begins the transfer. So you do most of your searching within your browser, rather than in a program like Napster. You can also set how many songs you want to be able to transfer at a given time. And you can for instance, go to your favorite band, let's say Aerosmith. You look up Aerosmith. It then shows you a list of every aerosmith song available. You can go down the list and select every single song on the list, and it will start tranferring them. If you have your maximum tranfer set a 4 songs, it will start downloading 4 songs. When 1 finishes, it starts another. So if you have 400 songs on your que, it will download all of them in 4 song increments. My cousin downloaded over 600 songs one weekend. He searched for some of his favorite bands, and selected every single song available, then just let it go. At the end of the weekend, it was done.

I lost all interest when Napster went to court. Haven't tried
any of the new sites, but reading this post may generate
    my interest again!

Right now I am using WinMX but have been hearing good things about Morpheus. I'll prob give that one a try this weekend. WinMX is ok but seems slow (ok very slow) at times.

    Default WinMX

I can't believe that no one ever mentions WinMX.com , by far this is the next Generation Sharing program, It not only shares mp3's but also any other file including avi's, zip files or whatever, Dont Worry it has different searches for each file type. The GUI is wild and the search features are great, you can have more than 1 search window open , TRUST ME ON THIS, I AM NO STRANGER TO THE UNDERGROUND. WINMX.COM - BTW: That Morpheous is crap.
