I could use a little assistance. I have a sony z505s laptop, running win 98. Whenever I plug the cd-rom (sony pc card pcga-cd51) in, it says that windows could not recogize the pc card because the is no memory area available, and that there is a memory manager in my config.sys file excluding the regions AOOO and FFFF. When I check the config.sys file there is nothing there. I think I am FAIRLY knowlegeable about windows and how to fix problems, but I'm wrong a lot. Any assistance would be greatly appriciated. Thank You

Hmm that sounds wierd, how much RAM is in that notebook?

delete the config.sys and autoexec.bat

remake them, making sure there is NOTHING in them.

go to:

Start => Run => type in: 'MSCONFIG'

see whats in the startup tab, kill anything you don't need.

you can modify the other tabs if you're good at it.
