    Angry Power Supply Burn Out

Well it was inevitable i guess but I didn't expect it to happen so soon. My story begins a few months ago when I bought my new Antec PP-403x power supply. The reason i bought it is because I anticipated putting lots of load on my system and I needed a reliable PS. As it turns out this power supply went before its time. A couple days ago after months of flawless work, the PS started showing signs of death. It would refuse to run unless plug in my hard drives in a certain order. weird you say? well imagine how I felt.

When I actually got it to work, i was like phew it actually works. So it worked for about a day and then *poof* it's dead when I came home from work yesterday. Reviving it was useless, this puppy was a goner. I tried different motherboards, taking out everything and going with only the mobo, and video card. Still no go. So after a couple hours of messing around I gave up and declared it dead at around 10 pm last night. i didn't have much in my system I don't think. I thought the PS could handle it all. This is what I had:

    Abit VP6
2 Pentium III 1 Ghz Chips overclocked to 1.125 GHz 150 FSB
    512 MB PC133 RAM
    2 30GB IBM 75 GXP Drives
    Visiontek GeForce2 GTS 32MB
    Sound Blaster Live! Value
    Diamond Supra Modem
    Plextor Plexwriter 16/10/40A
    Mitsumi 40x CDROM
    Floppy drive
    4 80mm Sunon case fans
2 Delta 38cfm Fans on alpha heatsinks

I thought that Antec PS could handle it... I guess I was wrong. I mean it's been working fine for the past month or so. It just started acting up after I tested the IWILL DVD266 on it. I'm not sure if that might be the problem but I'm sure the PS is dead. I've emailed Antec tech support to see if there is a way to fix it or get a new one. It has a 3 year warranty and I haven't done anything bad to the PS. So we'll see. Anyone have any suggestions on really reliable Power supplies? i need one to last me at least a year....
