    Talking Power Supply Question

ok so my Antec power supply died last week and I decided to get the ENERMAX EG465P-VE 431W as a replacement. My question is will this powersupply be enough to hold my system down? I mean the antec one worked fine for about 9 months but then just suddenly died. Can a motherboard be the cause of a power supply failing? Because everything was fine until I tested the IWILL DVD266 board... then the weird stuff started happening and when I switched back to the VP6, the PS died completely...

Also I have another powersupply here, a 250w one that I tried using with the VP6 and DVD266... now for both motherboards, the power is there, it goes on but the video never shows. the monitor just sits there like it wasn't connected to a computer. I hear the hard drive start up and everything else... it's very weird. the 250w powersupply works fine on another motherboard i tested it with but just not with the IWILL or Abit board. I hope it's not the mobos, but we'll see when the new PS gets here...

Anyone have any idea what's going on here? If both dual mobos are dead I'm not gonna be amused...

Both of those motherboards require alot of power.
Something a 250w PS isn't capable of giving.

The untimely death of your first power supply was probably just that, an untimely death.

Your motherboards should be just fine. Wait for the new PS.

AMD recommends at a min a 300w PS for most all of its
    cpu's.

The power consumtion of the cpu and other hardware
taxes a PS to the max. Gone are the days of the 175w
and 200w PS. That was old stuff for old boards like the
    233MMX, remember them?

hehehe that antec case if very popular... i've had mine since last october I believe and it's been great. I'm still trying to get to some mods I'd like to do to it but right now time and money is tight hehehe...

well the 250w PS is supposedly AMD certified... but with just the mobos connected and no HD or anything else but a vid card and memory, the Video doesn't even show up... I dunno I hope the mobos are ok and hopefully this enermax PS will handle everything

AMD certified 250W PS, but not with the current boards.

Take alook at what this 250W PS is ceritified for.

I got mine to turn on like yours one time using a
225 Seventeam PS. Same thing happened like you.

Stuck in a 350 Seventeam and whooah. Couldn't hold
    the system back.

    if you're gonna go

    go big
    go tough
    and go all the way.

Sparkle, Enermax, and PC Power and Cooling are the best supplies in the world.

I personally own a sparkle 350, and it rocks. I know many people who are more than happy with the enermax dual fan whisper series. (I wish I had one)

I just picked up the enermax dual fan for myself.

I've been building system for other people using various
PS and decided to get a real nice one for myself.

    It's sweet!
