    Default NEW System Specs Thread

I'm certain that there have to be lots of new members and people who have upgraded since the last one got pushed down the list. So, I just like to know what kind of rigs we've got here. Anyone?

    No change whatsoever here

But the comp still does what it has to do, so it's tolerable.

My specs are nearly as flashy, but the system is a well-oiled machine! (aka - plenty fast enough for now)

Enlight Medium ATX Case (250W Power Supply - haven't had any problems yet)
    Asus K7V (w/o audio)
    K7 Athlon Slot-A Classic 850MHz @ 850MHz
Generic HSF (front and rear case fans)
    512MB PC133 RAM (256+128+128 = mixed brands)
    I/O Magic Geforce2 MX400 32MB SDRAM
Creative Ensoniq Sound Card (I know, its cheap, but I only listen to MP3s)
    Linksys LNE100TX(v5) Network Card
    Maxtor 20GB ATA66 7200RPM
    Fujitsu 4GB UDMA33 5400RPM
    HP Cd-writer 9110i (8x4x32x)
    Generic 3.5" Floppy
    KDS AV-7TF 17" Flat-Screen Monitor
    Altec Lansing ATP3 Speakers (White)
    Memorex MX2500 Internet Keyboard
    Microsoft Optical Intellimouse Explorer (Mouse)
Personally programmed and modified HC12 microcontroller board on COM2 to accept any remote control commands from my Panasonic and Sony remotes (running Girder on the OS) (Can you tell I'm proud of it? )
Cruddy Intel USB Camera ($5 after rebate I think)
Windows 2000 Professional SP2 (The 1st good Microsoft OS - at least imo)

Hopefully, when my next upgrade rolls around (a couple years), the Athlon MPs will be a reasonable solution.

    HOW'S THE ECS MOTHERBOARD extremepc??????

I've read reviews that say it's crap, and reviews that say it's not. How many sticks of RAM are in your comp? I've heard that with more than one, those boards tend to lockup. Your thoughts? I want to buy one really bad.

Hmm ... I'm assuming it's because your system just isn't quite as good. Right?

Actually Aaron, your system is really all that you need... The main reason I went with the dualies is for content creation, i.e. development, and of course for my kernal compile... There is no real NEED for what I have, but hey, I just quit doing drugs, I figured might as well spend my cash on someting usefull for a change ;]
