I have a voodoo video card and I am thinking of upgrading to a g-force card. I have a celeron 566e overclocked to 850 and it runs fine. but I have heard that you have to change some settings on the g-force to make it run correctly any help would be appreciated.

I used to have a Celeron 566@901 and a GeForce2 MX, and I never had to set anything special for it to work. What motherboard you have? I had the CUSL2, and I had it running 4x AGP with no problems...even OC'd the video card. NERO!!!

I have heard some people say they have difficulties getting the geforce to work correctly, but I think those problems are unrelated to that actual vid card. The geforce should work fine without any "special" settings.

    Exclamation Maybe a voltage issue...

Remember how a short while back NVIDIA had that fuss about GeForce cards not working in some AMD motherboards because of the fact that the mobo manufacturer had strayed a *bit* from the specification, and they didn't make available the full amount of power for the AGP slot that they should've? Well...there might be a similar problem here. Since Athlons/Durons already suck up power...overclocking them is going to make them use more. Couple that with a potentially weak power supply, and that could be your problem. Even if the power supply is weak...if the mobo isn't solid on this point, then you may not have much room for overclocking.
That's why the MX is used a lot by overclockers. It doesn't draw nearly as much power, so it's got more headroom.
As for the setting you're talking about, I think you're referring to how some early Athlon adopters had to set their AGP mode to 1x, because the chipsets were having problems with 2x/4x.
