I have a Diamond V770U that was overheating so I decided to replace the fan on it. Then after I took the fan off there is still alot of hard crap on the GPU. What is the best way to get this junk off? any help would be appreciated, thanks

I've not had experience with it, but I think a razor blade has been method of choice for many.

Razor Blade......Just make sure to be careful of course

yeh use a razor blade but then lapp the core. use realy fine sand paper.

I ended up, using rubbing alcohol and it took FOREVER!, but I got all the junk off. Then I bought some generic silver thermal paste from the overclockerz store. When I got it however it was folded and mashed into my mailbox. When I opened it, guess what it was totally smushed.I managed to scrape enough off the broken capsule to put on the GPU. The only problem was that the paste didn't hold the heatsink onto the fan for more than an hour. SO I put 2 rubber bands around it and it works great now
