Wiring perhaps?
I know I always get a tiny whining sound when either one of my wires is getting bounced by a system fan or the fan is grazing something (Like a plastic grille I have on the front of my case)...or it's vibrating and causing harmonic noise to come from your case.
In the case of the wires, run your system open and see if you can find the source of the noise. If it seems to be coming from vibration, then touch your finger to the area that's vibrating and see if the shock absorption of your finger causes the noise to cease. If that's the case, then you may want to consider doing some noise-dampening to your case. I've seen people lining the inside of their chassis (Under the motherboard tray) with foam padding.
