Check out this great article at AnandTech:
http://www.anandtech.com/showdoc.html?i=1422
It is a comparison of Win2k Vs. Win98 drivers between an ATI card and an NVIDIA card. Looks like ATI has some major problems. This can't be good for them.
Any opinions?

I haven't yet gotten to test out the Radeon All-In-Wonder...
But I must say that NVIDIA's driver performance between Win2K and Win98 is almost a moot point. I've seen very little difference running Quake II and UT on my machine in 1600x1200x32 and down the line...and it still runs fine. There's almost no difference in the quality of the drivers.
On the other hand, the DirectX implementations sometimes seem to have their slight quirks. In X-Wing Alliance, a title which for all practical purposes IS Win2K compatible, certain textures shear like mad...but it doesn't happen in Win2K.

Win 2k vs Win 98
In the two games that I have got out of the list (Q3 and UT) it seens that the only change is a 2% drop in frame rate in UT when running win 2k. Since I am a student the two operating systems cost the same 45 pounds. I think that due to the climate of the computing scene it would be sensible to buy now to save the cost of upgrading when Win98 becomes less supported. At least Win 2K will only become more supported and is a more stable OS.
