how to work my new sound blaster platinum

I got a new Sound Blaster live platinum.. al gold tips etc..

I wanna know if this has 5.1 surround support?

does anyone have a pic of a card that has this? what does it mean?

Also, my card has an "optical out" plug, whats that all about, and what does it do?

AFAIK The Platinum does have the 5.1 support.

As for the optical out my best guess would be firewire. Post a pic of it if you can - I would be more help then...
