Question Removing the permanent (retail) heatsink

I have a retail AMD K6-2 400Mhz cpu with the heatsink aparently permanently attached to it. With it paired with it's current motherboard, it will only run at 450Mhz. So I'm thinking I would like to put a new heatsink on it, since I have a extra socket A heatsink and the current fan is dying. If the capacitors aren't too close I'll be able to use the socket A.

So I am wondering, how does one go about removing this permanently attached heatsink? Any information is greatly appreciated.

Nevermind, the capacitors are too close. I guess when designing the socket7 motherboards, cooling wasn't much of an issue.
