i got the computer running completely stable at 744mhz, with my Abit bx6 v.2 mobo, 327mb of ram PC100, a Western Digital 20gb hard drive, soundblaster live x-gamer 5.1, 3com adsl homeconnect modem, voodoo3 3500, and acer 2x burner. so far, im at 48 degrees so i dont think theres a problem there and i have three fans one blowing in, two blowing out. the reason why i ask this question is because i heard on this board that most guys can get the 600e running @ 800mhz with the stock fan and sink. in addition, im running the cpu at 124mhz the pci 1/4, clock multiplier 4.5, 100/66 selector at high, agp 2/3 , cache default, core voltage at 1.65....if i can get this baby running, thanks.
btw im running win98, might switch to Me now that i have a faster processor.

I hope this doesn't come too late to you man, I know it's been a week and a half sice you asked.
I bought a 550E back in August, and my retailer told me that he hadn't seen a single one that wouldn't make the bus speed jump from 100 to 133 withough being 100% reliable. (stock cooling)
Since then the same guy has told me about having the same success with 700E's running at 933. (also stock cooling)
At the time I was too cheap to buy RAM, so I waited until just recently to snag 256Megs of PC133 at a really good price.
As soon as I installed the RAM, I started ramping up my Bus Speed. I figured I'd better do it in a couple of steps, so I ran some benchmarks at 100MHz for reference, then again at 111MHz. When I got to 122MHz, Windows would load, but I couldn't finish a benchmark. Not to be discouraged, I dropped my PCI ratio down to 1/4 and set the bugger for 133MHz. Flawless, absolutely flawless. She runs like a charm.
Point is, I am nearly positive that your 600E will run perfectly at 800, but you have to address a couple of other things first.
You NEED PC133 RAM. I'm surprised that you got your PC100 to run at 124, I would have expected it to max out at about 112-115. If the BX6 v2 doesn't support PC133, you need a BF6 (or any board that supports PC133)
Assuming your Voodoo is an AGP card; I don't think it will cut the mustard. Given that you have a BX chipset, the best AGP ratio you can get is 2/3, which means about 89MHz/133. This means that your AGP bus is running 23Mhz over spec. As far as I know, you need at least a GeForce-class video card to be able to handle this overclocked state.
48 Degrees is fine, I didn't have to change my voltage, and your multiplier is forced, so it doesn't matter what you set it to.
Options: If you are happy with 744 and your system is stable, congratulations! I'd say you are lucky that both your ram and video card are running ok at that speed.
If you absolutely have to reach 800MHz, you could buy some PC133 RAM, a GeForce (or better) video card, and hope that your BX6v2 supports PC133.
If you don't feel like coughing up quite that much money, you could buy an Abit SE6, SL6, or SH6. These are all i815 Mobo's ('S' for 'Solano'), the first two are socket-based, and the SH6 is slot based. The SL6 supports ATA/66, and the other two support ATA/100, whichever you prefer depending on your hard drive.
This is cheaper than buying RAM and a video card, but keep in mind that these boards have integrated video and sound (but they still have AGP slots, and 6 PCI slots), so they are expensive as motherboards go. The i815 chipset has PCI ratios as low as 1/4, and AGP ratios as low as 1/2 (so your Voodoo will be ok). Also, they have SDRAM ratios that allow you use PC100 RAM while your system bus is actually 133MHz. This won't be as fast a a 'true' PC133 solution, but it sure is cheaper.
As far as performance goes, the i815 is about on par with the 440BX, though it might be just a tad slower when you examine benchmark scores. The features make up for it though.
