    Question What is 'Engineering Bitflip'?

I have an older Savage 4 video card from EVGA. This card is labeled 16mb. When the system identifies it, it comes up 32mb, until put into Open GL (beta), then the thing reads '16Mb Engineering Bitflip'. What is Bitflip?
I'm assuming it's taking the Ram and squeezing it into double -like taking two pieces of gum and squeezing them together to make a larger piece....it takes 32Mb and squeezes it into a more powerful Open Gl Capable 16Mb?
I have yet to find anyone who can explain this logically to me.
    Thank You.
    Cliff

I had a 16mb version of that card a while back. I think the 'engineering bitflip' is something to do with the drivers (are they the beta performance drivers?). If you update to the latest released drivers (not beta), it should be recognised properly.

Yes it was the Beta version. I was told by EVGA that it was a way to recognize 'certain driver', but that didn't quite make sense to me because 'Bitflip' sounds a bit like Reverse Engineering or possibly a way of squeezing more out of the Ram?
I'll say I think you're right because you are the 2nd such person to mention 'drivers'.
    Maybe I'll do the update.
