CPU help
I dont know too much about computers, i can do some pretty simple stuff like build in my cd-rw, pci cards, and ram thats about all ive done in my comp. I have an old supermicro motherboard from 98 that they dont even have on their website anymore. anyway I have a Pentium II processor at 333 MHz and want to upgrade to something like a Pentium 4, will I need a new motherboard for this? and if so any suggestions on one with 3 slots for memory and a good amount of pci slots

I personally LOVE AMD. It's cheaper, and compares, and even beats much more expensive Intel Processors at many benchmarking utilities. I highly reccomend AMD.

AMD now makes quality stuff. Much better than the generation from your computers time. I am guessing that when you upgrade, you'll probably need to upgrade you ram and power supply, and possibly the case, regardless of AMD or Intel. Intel, makes quality stuff too, I think. At least that's what I've been told. I have never tried it so I don't really know. To help you decide, check out this news item and thread: Link.
A good place to get estimates of prices could be: www.pricewatch.com/.
Is your computer a name brand, white box, or build-it-yourselfer?
