    i was wondering if anyone had a suggestion for a heatsink/fan combo for a pentium III 1ghz flip chip on an asus cusl2-c mobo

    Kinda depends on what you're willing to spend, and how much noise you're willing to tolerate.

    noise really isnt a problem
    id like something $30 and below

    Forgive me if I'm a little out of date, but the GlobalWin FOP-38 is under $25. A bit loud (42 dB by some measures), but I don't mind it at all, and I used to run *two* of them. It does a spectacular job, and is still a good performer even today. It rivals some of the copper heatsinks out there. Be careful not to drop it, tho'. The fins get bent easily after surviving a four-foot drop to the floor...

    I tend to agree with Cutriss on the Fop32.

    You don't have a stock PIII cooler that came with the cpu?

    Sorry, maybe you got an oem cpu?
