i have an nvidia riva tnt2 pci 8mb ram video card w/bios version 2.05.20.02.20 and have the latest nvidia detonator driver dated 12-4-2000. both socket 7 motherboards i have will not boot at all with this card but both work fine with two junk S3virge (junk meaning they have some bad memory). this tnt2 card works fine in a slot 1 motherboard so i know it is a working card.
now i have upgraded the bios on both the socket 7 motherboards with the latest dated versions available for them and they still won't boot with the tnt2 video card installed but will with the old S3's. i am wondering if there is a compatibility issue between the tnt2 model 64 and socket 7 motherboards (?)
the two motherboards are: TXpro2 model M571 & AOpen model AP5VM
both have AMI bios's.
