    Default GeForce 3

For the BEST out there, I'd say wait a month for GeForce 3. Hercules.com has already posted a flash animation on their site saying a ???? product is coming soon. That most likely is NV20 (GF3)

Post Better now than it used to be...

    Two years ago, it was:
    Matrox G400, GeForce 256, Voodoo3, Voodoo2 (still), ATI Rage All-In-Wonder 128, PowerVR2...

And each had its merits too.

At any rate...If you're loaded with cash (~$600), then a GeForce 3 is not at all bad. In fact, depending on its power and scalability, you may be selling yourself short if you don't get one. On the other hand, a GeForce2 Ultra can be had now for around $300...and that's one sweet deal, considering that it was $500 six months ago.

If 3D isn't EVERYTHING for you, then go with the Radeon AIW. The TV tuning capability is REALLY nice...If you need the best of both worlds, though, consider getting a VoodooTV 200 and a GeForce card...good combo.

Yep, the msrp for a Geforce3 is $599. Anyway, like Cutriss said, if your loaded with cash and just want to play games, then wait just a bit for the Geforce3. If you need something now, or want an all around car, then you will probably want to look at the other options like an All In Wonder or a Geforce2 and a tv out card. So there are several options, it just depends on what you want.

Get yourself an Ultra. When the NV20 hits the streets the Ultra prices will drop. If you do some shopping you can find an Ultra for around $350 or so right now. In a few weeks they will probably be $299 or less. Most of the Ultra cards will o/c to 315/515. Thats all the video card you could ever need unless you just want to be #1 on madonions 3dmark 2000.

I would say for the best, wait for the nv20. Right now, I would say that one should buy the Radeon 64MB DDR card, as it has the best image quality.

I'd buy a Visiontek Geforce2 ultra. The price is a little high, but its well worth it.

The geforce 3 is really expensive, I'd pick up either a GF2 PRO or a Radeon 64meg, the Radeon 64meg is pretty cheap nowadays and has pretty good performance+plenty of features, including some the geforce 2 (maybe not 3) lacks.

I'm sure the Radeon is fine and all that, but NVidia is so much more on the ball with their drivers than ATI. Drivers and updates are a serious consideration with video cards, especially if you are running Win2000.

Get the GF2 Ultra. I would if I had the cash, but i'll the GTS flavor for $150 less and put that money saved toward a trip to Europe.
