which goldfinger? For what it's worth, Golden Orbs are great for the money, but they are not the beset coolers out there.

You have to remember that this chip has offdie L2 cache, and as such, the speed that it can reach may well be limited by the rating of your cache.

If you have H.Oda's program, you can manipulate the multiplier of the L2 cache in windows. But that means that you have to be able to boot into windows first in order to manipulate it.

I'd venture a guess that you could get, at most, 750 mhz out of it. 800 if you figure out how to manipulate the cache.

But, to tell you how to use your goldfinger, we need to know which one it is.

You should have bought a duron, they are cheaper and you can get them up as high as 1000MHz(not without attiquit cooling of course)

The first thing I would do is get better cooling. Do a little research and find a good cooler like an alpha or something. Then it is mostly just trial and error. Up the usb and see if it runs stable. Up the multiplier and see if it runs stable. Try combinations of the two. It it becomes unstable, start upping the voltage in small increments until it becomes stable and then try to up the usb or multiplier some more. It is mostly a matter of trying different settings and seeing which ones run stable and which ones don't. Good luck.

I think 850-950mhz would be a good target to shoot for.
