Be careful if you frequently put thing on and take it off, guess the stress caused problems on mine, snapped the plastic retention clip, now I need a new mobo if I ever hope to review a heatsink again. Too bad Abit wont send me a KT7A to replace this KT7, ah well. I'll attach the pic so you can see my nifty copper wire job, keeps the heatsink on for the time being.

I broke the clip on my FOP38 before. They are pretty hard to install. You would think that they would make them a little more user friendly. I was lucky that I didnt damage my T-Bird during the little accident. I e-mailed Millisec and they sent me a free replacement clip for my FOP38.

Well you can all see it now, as it is up in my review of the Extreme Cool CNC Machined Copper Spacer.

Paul, if you check out the Babe Thread you will see I do in fact know how to post images via [img], just not with the attach feature.

Yeah sorry for the attach feature I had it setup so it goes into a list and I either validate it or delete it. I didn't mean to put the feature on because we don't have the space right now. So you'll notice you won't be able to post an attachment for now....

Exclamation How I used mine -

I used a screwdriver to push the clip down, and a second one to bring it around. The big problem with this, of course, is when you miss, you can hose the mobo that way too.
Did it just snap randomly, or did you let up on the clip tension when it wasn't all the way in?
Oh...not that it matters, but I have FOP-32s with the Delta fans added on...but the same clipping mechanism is used.

yeah I have noticed the same thing with my FOP-38 there is just enough platic still on the socket to keep it in place. I might have 1 or 2 take off and ons left on it. It also helps when you take the little plastic square off the bottom before you install it , thank god I didn't fry my athlon 800
