    Default Old Myth Proven...

A friend of mine has proven an old myth, which stated that a corrupt hard drive can be temporarily fixed, by freezing it for 6-8 hours. His hard drive was giving read errors, and was completely unusable. After freezing it (he accidentally left it in for 18 hours, but I doubt there was a difference) he left it to thaw for 30 minutes (which was also a mistake). He then hooked it up to his computer, and sure enough, it was working. Of course, it only worked for about 45 minutes, which was just long enough for him to back up the data. He feels that if he didn't thaw it, he probably could have got a little more time out of it. Supposedly, you can only do this once, then the hard drive is completely trash, but he hasn't tried it again, so I can't verify that. The cool thing is that it worked! I don't know if this little story can be used as content anywhere on the site, perhaps has a little trick or tip somewhere. Just though you guys would think this was interesting.

Yeah, I was thinking about it, but I didn't know if you would want to use it as actual content on the site, or not, so I decided to post it here first.
