My monitor is starting to die, so I am considering an LCD Monitor. I wouldn't consider myself to be a hardcore gamer, but if there was more than a slight amount of ghosting or other visual defects, it would drive me crazy. In addition, I really don't want to spend more that $400-450.

Should I even consider an LCD monitor? If so, what would you recommend? I read a really good review about the Cornea MP704, but it appears to be discontinued.
