    Default Lite-On LDW-411S

Ok, here's my problem. I just bought a Lite-On LDW-411S DVD +- R/RW burner and I am having a problem with media incompatibility. This drive is supposed to handle every type of media, but mine will not recognize DVD+R disks. I have tried two different brands. The first one was a Maxell DVD+R and the second was a FujiFilm DVD+R. Both disks were not recognized by the drive. Has anyone else seen this problem, or am I experiencing faulty hardware here?

Have you tried the updated firmware for your drive? It’s supposed to improve media compatibility. Be warned though, firmware flashing, if done improperly could cost you your drive.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that. Yes, I have updated the firmware. The most current version is FS0J, which is what I am using.

If possible try the media in another burner, could be coincidence. Is this happening only with +Rs? Any luck with the –R? It’s starting to sound like the drive needs to be RMAed.
