    Default What the hell?

I am Bill Gates! And while I do own everyone else's computers, who are these four impostors that are claiming to be me? I demand that the sysop of this BBS immediately cancel their forum accounts and lock that polling option!

If you fail to do it immediately, I'll have my lawyers hack open your server, which I noticed is running some rogue software on it. Don't make me send my boyfriends in the BSA over to your place to check to see if you're using the correct number of Microsoft products...

Forget that Romero guy. I'll make you my bitch.

I indicated above that Sony makes my $3,000 monitor. This hoe weighs in at a whopping 97 pounds...

    Cool

I'm only 15 and have owned a total of 8 computers.

Some apple laptop. It didn't even boot up.

    486dx @66mhz
    486dx @75mhz
    Pentium @100mhz
    Pentium @166mhz
    Pentium @233mhz
    K-6(2) @450mhz
    Celeron @466mhz

My current system is the Celeron @466mhz:

    nVidia TNT2 M64 32mb
    Kingston KNE100TX nic
    Creative Soundblaster AWE 32
    BCD 40x Cd-Rom
    Amptron ES14 16" monitor
    64mb PC100 RAM.

It kinda sucks that I have that Celeron (AMD!!) right now. I used to have that AMD mobo with all those parts as my main machine but it had a bad PCI bus and I couldn't use the NIC. I paid $45 of my hard earned money for the Celeron processor and mobo.

A bad PCI bus? This is a new one on me. Was it just the NIC that didn't work? If you've still got the proc and the mobo, why don't you post this in the Tech Support forum? I'm curious of the symptoms of this particular problem.

    Default Hardware Junkie

Ok I am probably going to miss a few but here goes .
I admit i am a hardware junkie ..i take any old PC and fix it up and sell it for next to nothing to get people into PCs. I have currently getting PII 400s chips for free fixing them up and selling them to people for next to nothing to get younger kids and their parents into the 'net and gaming. I just love building , tweaking, and seeing the look on their face when i tell em a PII400 with 128megs of ram and all the goodies ( like TNT or better video cards )or under 250$
Ahh the joys of working in the industry

I probably need to start going to HA (Hardware Anonmyous ) to help me with my "addiction".

    12 slots....you mean, 12 ISA slots??

If so, how many were 16-bit ISA slots?

Ok, here goes my attempt to remember them all. I've had so many I can't even remember them all. It got real bad when I started fixing and selling computers because my system would change almost monthly.

    Mac 512
    Mac Plus
    Mac Classic
    Mac FX
Mac PowerPC 6100 (with the 486-66 DOS card in it. Yeah!)

< Conversion from Mac to PC >
Got bored with Macs. Nothing to do. They never break, you can't upgrade them, they just work.
Now PC's... Theres a computer. You can continually upgrade them and they never work right.
You always have something to play with!

    386-20
    486-66
    Cyrix 586-100

    (Things start getting blurry here...
Started building/fixing computers for other people and just rotated parts (the best ones) through my systems.)

    Pentium 133
    Pentium 233 mmx
Pentium II 300 Celeron (Overclocked to 450 of course!) This computer was awesome!
Dual Pentium II 450 Tower <- This was the "Lets put as much stuff in it as we can" computer. Major overkill.

    Pentium II 550
    Athlon 700
Shuttle xPC 1.1gzh (the tiny cube computers)
    Athlon 1.2

    Currently -> Dell Inspiron 8200 1.7
    Future -> Athlon 2800+ in a Black Shuttle SN41G2B
