J, try this link. That processor should be at 2.16, 2.2 is for the 266 FSB model. What BIOS version are you running?

"For example, an AMD Athlon XP 3000+ processor (333MHz FSB) has an internal 13x clock multiplier and requires a 166MHz motherboard bus frequency. This results in a processor frequency of 2167MHz (“bus frequency” x “multiplier” = “processor frequency”). However, if the motherboard's bus frequency is set to 100MHz, the processor will only operate at 1300MHz (100MHz bus frequency x 13 multiplier = 1300MHz CPU speed)."

i was running 5.5, then stupid me upgraded to 5.6, that is when things went down hill, so i put 5.5 back on, and still had the same problem

yes i was running at 166, then 133, now at 100, and i am stable, i was going to start going up a few clicks and see where it starts hanging up

ok, can someone explain this, i went out and bought an off the shelf basic kingston, 512 3200 mem stick, slapped that in, system is working fine, no lock ups yet,

what i took out is two sticks of knigston hyperx (khx3200ak2)

put that in the wifes pc works fine

i haven't found any information or any articles about a problem between the two(k6-delta and Hyperx mem)

so anyones two cent of enlightenment would be apperciated

Did you try putting the HyperX back into your system? It seems like you were inadvertently overclocking your ram. Or it could be a problem using dual channels. You may want to install them one at a time and try something like Memtest.

ok here i go, slapping forhead first, the problem, as far as i found out was the mem voltage setting, the MB Bios was setting it at 2.8, when it should have been 2.6, sett to the correct V and every thing is back to normal, ok not really but at least i'll say for now
