Oh someone please help me.
I just purchased the ATI Radeon 64MB DDR graphics card. My main reason for purchasing this card was to record a 1 hour long show from my TV.
My system setup is as follows:
1000 MHZ AMD Athlon Thunderbird
MSI Pro 2a Mainboard VIA KT133 Chipset
Micron 256MB PC133 SDRAM
30 Gig 7200RPM ATA100 IBM Hard Drive
Windows 2000 Professional
OK here's the problem:
I have properly installed all of the drivers and software from ATI. I have installed DirectX 8 and the DirectX 8 digital update.
I have my VCR video out RCA plug connected to the ATI video in RCA plug.
I see the TV show on my monitor. When I record the video, after no more than 30 seconds, my entire system crashes, and sometimes the monitor shuts off ( orange light instead of green )
I read some things on the internet suggesting WinDVR software from InterVideo. So I uninstalled the ATI software and installed WinDVR. This software seemed to work better. Unfortunately I can't record anything longer than 1 minute. Actually what happens is it will continue to record but when I hit stop. BOOM CRASH
My computer system has never crashed until these experiences. If you can help please reply.
Does ATI make shoddy products? Or should I have just bought the ATI RADEON ALL-IN-WONDER 32MB DDR? The only thing is, I am scared to buy another ATI product.
